2022, Is that you already????

Happy New Year y’all. Let’s make this short and sweet. This year has flown by disrespectfully. There was no time to get over the pandemic; Rona is still hanging around and this bitch brought her entire crew to say hey. Therefore a large majority of people have not had the luxury of hanging out and meeting new people or traveling like they usually would.

Me on the other hand took 2021 by the horns. I graduated with my Ed.S. degree in May, hopped on a plane to San Juan the following week with my not so broke best friend, (hey Twin). Worked all Summer to gather my coins. Took those coins and my faith to a new realtor and then bought my new home. Sacrifice teaches lessons. Lessons shapes your life.

With that philosophy in mind, 2021 has taught me many lessons. The biggest and most important one is not to force anything. Not friendships, relationships, encounters, set goals, not anything. Because what is for you will be yours…. Period. You are worth more than gold in your own eyes so let who needs to see your shine come to you. Let your engaging energy allow your tribe to gather around you and continue in the exchange of refilling each other’s cup.

Lesson two is to step out on faith….believe me when I tell you..God got you. Know that your purpose can only be fulfilled if you make that first move. The rest has already been predetermined, so just do it. Be your own biggest cheerleader and others will follow. And guess what? If they don’t, that’s cool too because it’s ok to be the only one in the stands routing for you.

Lesson three is to trust your intuition, because it does not lie. If a situation, person, place or anything doesn’t sit right with your spirit, do yourself a favor and remove yourself without explanation.

Lastly, love on yourself. Whether it is monthly, weekly or daily… give yourself some grace and reward. You deserve it. I am so looking forward to what this year has in store for me and for you. Remember, whatever it may be, just embrace it. It’s your life to live.
